How it started…

In 2011, Directors Michael Gibbons and Carla Redpath founded Project Business Solutions (PBS) with a clear mission: to support North East businesses in understanding the impact of telecoms on their operations. They aimed to educate companies on smarter purchasing practices and help them source better deals, ensuring that telecoms became an asset rather than a burden.

By 2013, PBS had established a solid reputation. It was during this time that Michael and Carla met Dom Ryan, a local marketing agency owner. Their professional relationship quickly evolved into a friendship, leading to collaborative efforts that would shape the future of their businesses. As PBS began working with various charitable organizations, they discovered a troubling trend: many charities were being exploited due to their lack of expertise or time to secure favorable deals, often forced into costly short-term contracts due to limited funding.

Founding SwitchAid…

Determined to make a difference, Michael, Carla, and Dom created SwitchAid. This initiative aimed to reduce core running costs for good causes, ensuring that funds stayed within the communities rather than flowing into the coffers of big businesses. SwitchAid worked closely with suppliers to understand the unique needs of the charity sector, leveraging group buying between PBS and SwitchAid, relinquishing commissions, and negotiating exclusive tariffs tailored for good causes.

Creating sebb Group…

To further bolster these efforts, they established The Sustainable and Ethical Buying Bureau, known as sebb Group. This strategic move strengthened their position when negotiating with suppliers, allowing them to offer even greater savings and support. Today, sebb Group collaborates with hundreds of local businesses and charities across the country, saving them hundreds of thousands of pounds each year. Their dedication to social impact has been recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Social Impact Awards with suppliers

Looking ahead…

sebb Group is set to revolutionize the mobile network landscape with the introduction of their own network.
